Finetune Research is the most sophisticated academic paper generator in the Kingpin Tech ecosystem. Inside the Finetune dashboard you can pick from 30+ paper types and 10 citation formats. The system includes source verification against OpenAlex, rubric scoring, word count adjustment, and a multi-phase humanization pipeline, all backed by the same Supabase authentication, billing, and team management infrastructure that the rest of Kingpin shares.

The differentiator is multi-model orchestration. Finetune analyses your assignment's complexity and intent, then routes the request to the best AI provider for the job. For simple essays it uses Groq for speed. For complex research papers it uses OpenAI GPT for quality. For creative writing it uses DeepSeek for nuance. This routing is automatic, but you can pin a model on the profile page if you have a strong preference.

Citation support is rigorous. The system inserts in-text citations as it drafts, formats the reference list per your chosen style, and verifies every source against OpenAlex's database of academic papers. Invalid citations are flagged and can be replaced with verified alternatives. Cover pages are generated automatically for styles that need them.

Humanization is layered. Three engine types are available: FineTune (the primary engine), Standby (a non-LLM fallback), and Clean (a deep cleaning pass). Quality control is built in. The rubric scoring system evaluates your paper against academic standards. The revision system lets you provide specific feedback and ask the model to refine the paper. All papers are saved with full version history on the Finetune dashboard.
